Maximum Edge and its members offer their customers a superior standard in skate blade maintenance. The sharpening system incorporates a precise profiling and patented finish process, which increases the number one factor in skating - skater control. Reasons why your skates need to be MAXIMUM EDGE profiled:

Skate blades delivered from the factory are not precision profiled

Left and right blades usually differ in contact surface, balance point and height

Repeated cross-grinding of skates before sharpening will alter your profile

Even skate sharpening alone can change your profile over time

It is recommended that you get your skates profiled once a year.

Sizing & Cutting Your Child's Hockey Stick:

This is mainly a preference for the higher level kids whether they want more stick for reach or less stick for control. For the beginning player it is recommended that the stick be cut at the nose when standing straight up. This way when the player is standing on their skates the stick will come up to their chin.
