The Flyers Skate Zone has developed a progressive hockey skills development program that is designed to provide skills instruction for children ages 7 through 13. This program has been designed as an introduction to hockey focusing on basic skills, with an emphasis on having FUN!
Weekly clinics teach the fundamental skills of skating, puck handling, passing, shooting, and game situations providing the participant with the opportunity to develop confidence and a positive self-image while experiencing achievement throughout the program.
The Learn to Play Hockey Program has been designed to prepare participants to move into a recreational hockey league, such as our Flyers Skate Zone Limited Travel League, once they have completed levels I-III

LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY PROGRAM An inexpensive introduction to the game of hockey! Level I- Learn to Play Hockey This is our starter hockey program for children with some basic skating skills who wish to try hockey. This level is designed to be fun and teach the basic skating and puck skills necessary to have a positive experience playing hockey. (children who have never skated before should start with our learn to skate program). Our Flyers Future Stars program is designed to provide opportunities for hockey players six and under to participate and have fun. The program also teaches participants on ice instruction once a week in an effort to give the young hockey player the opportunity to learn the game in a fun relaxed enviornment.
