20 YEAR SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN FLYERS YOUTH HOCKEY CLUB AND PHILADELPHIA FLYERS ELITE HOCKEY CLUB
"A twenty year relationship between two youth hockey clubs, focused on the overall development of the player, helps to propel seven players to the Division I and Professional levels."
The path to college hockey and beyond can be a difficult one to navigate. To help ease that difficulty, two local clubs - Philadelphia Flyers Elite & Flyers Youth - have forged a partnership that goes back to 2001 in an effort to help players reach the summit of their hockey careers.
Flyers Youth Hockey Club, a Tier 2 program whose home rink is Virtua Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ has been a trend setter in the development of young hockey players. The development program which Flyers Youth has designed for their players is key to a seamless transition for players when the time comes for them to play Tier 1 for Flyers Elite.
At the Tier 1 level, Philadelphia Flyers Elite, who plays out of the Virtua Health Flyers Skate Zone at Pennsauken, has been a perennial powerhouse in the national AAA rankings. Their status attracts players from all over the tristate area, but nothing is more rewarding then when they receive a player from their partner down the road. The comfort that comes with knowing players have been taught the right way from an early age brings peace of mind for their coaches.
It is this partnership that’s led to numerous players advancing their careers to the Division 1 and Professional Hockey ranks. Below is a list of young men and one woman who are all benefactors of starting out at Flyers Youth then transitioning to Flyers Elite when the time comes to pursue Tier 1.
